The Department has ten Ph.D guides and three persons are pursuing Ph.D degree. Department has VTU recognized Research centre for conducting Ph.D. programs. At present Nine (9) are pursuing and five(5) Ph.D. program. The Department helps students in their project work. It also helps the research scholars in solving various mathematical problems.
The major Areas of research are Fluid mechanics, Graph theory, Special functions, Numerical analysis, Combinatorial optimization, Mathematical modelling, Fuzzy automata, Extended fuzzy sets, Fuzzy Graph Theory, Number theory, History of maths, Fractional differential equations, Differential geometry, Partial Differential Equations.
